Day 17

After yesterday, this morning was gorgeous.  There was still a small headwind but the water was calm.  My good progress came to a grinding halt at the lock that I had to go through.  There were several barges in front of me so I settled down for my four hour wait.  Once through, I made it to the outskirts of Cincinatti.  I will try to scoot through it tomorrow as quick as I can.  My next big town will be Louisville which I should make by next weekend.  Leanne is going to meet me there also so I am looking forward to that.

I am still only cooking once a day.  It takes too much unpacking/packing to do anymore.  So I usually make a hearty breakfast and snack on Clif bars for the rest of the day.  Now you know why I will stop at any fast food place along the route!  I am excited to see the changing of the leaves while I am along this river.  I will bore you all with pictures-like you’ve never seen fall before!  Tough, it’s my trip and I am going to do it!

Good luck today! K and e

    • Compared to what I’ve been eating on the river, a homemade lunch would have been a luxary! Thanks for the encouragement! Sam
